Nuevo Portil is a newly created 18 hole golf course which borders a lagoon and a pine forest nature reserve. A wonderfully quiet sandy beach is located just a few hundred metres away. It is situated on the Costa de la Luz, with a choice of airports - both Faro and Seville are within 1½ hours drive.

On the doorstep, El Portil is only a 15 minute stroll and provides for all your daily needs with supermarkets, pharmacies and bakeries plus a varied selection of bars, cafes and restaurants. El Portil also has a lagoon that covers 15 hectares, 13 of which are nature protected. It is surrounded by an abundance of pines and broom and boasts hides for bird watching. A pathway circles the lagoon and passes through woods that are home to a variety of birds.

The pretty fishing village of El Rompido is a couple of miles away. Gastronomes will delight in its numerous beach front restaurants which offer superb seafood reflecting the fishing tradition of its inhabitants and affords a totally uncommercialised taste of Spain. Nearby is the newly built marina of El Faro with a selection of shops, cafés and bars
